Simple Exercise Advice
When you ask people what their New Years resolution is, the reply most of them give is to begin exercising. But how many actually put their resolutions into effect is quite predictable. If you are one of them, then a few tips may help you in actually putting your thoughts into practice.
Do things that you enjoy
Exercise doesn’t necessarily mean spending hours peddling on a stationary bike at a gym or at home. Neither does it mean spending lump sums on gadgets which you are quite unlikely to use in the long run. Instead one can start with simple walking which is not only relaxing and energizing but also inexpensive. The other ways of adding physical activities in your daily schedules are, riding, gardening, dancing, weight lifting, swimming, playing (any of your favorite sports), cleaning the house or even playing with your kids.
Schedule time for exercise
Sometimes the only means to take time out for exercising is putting it up on your schedule like a doctor’s appointment or a official meeting. With the busy lifestyle that all of us lead today, taking time out for ourselves seems of least importance. If followed religiously exercise too could become a part of the to-do list. Fixing the timing for exercising can be done on individual preference. If it sounds too boring to exercise alone, one could either pull in other family members or friends or even join a gym.
Exercise energizes
Most of us, due to our busy lifestyles, feel too tired to exercise. But one should take extra efforts to include it in the daily schedule anyway. Exercises are known to activate the “Happy cells” in our body which keeps us rejuvenated and energized. Exercises are excellent stress relievers too.
Variety is spice of life
Repetitions are boring. The same happens in exercising too when one is doing the same kind of exercises over an extended period of time. To pep up your exercise regimen, trying mixing up different physical activities and either alternate the sets or do it in a weekly session such as one week of walking alternated with one week of cycling or yoga.
Warming up before a exercise regimen is a must
Most of us, when we start any kind of a physical activity, our body is in a state of rest, which is why if you suddenly start running or walking fast you get tired easily. Similarly when you start exercising suddenly you are bound to feel tired easily. Hence first flex your muscles with some basic stretching exercises which is also known as warming up. This prevents the muscles from being harmed during wrong postures of exercises.
